The Way - Why Biblical Knowledge Isn't Enough
ABOUT THIS SERMON
The Pharisees and scribes of Jesus Christ's day knew the Old Testament meticulously. Yet, when the Messiah stood right in front of them, they failed to recognize Him. Why? Because "knowledge puffs up, but love edifies" (1 Corinthians 8:1). They leaned on their own human understanding and created religious traditions rather than submitting to God's living way.
Drawing from John 14:6, Matthew 7, and Matthew 22, this sermon examines what it truly means to follow "The Way." It is an urgent call to move past superficial knowledge, embrace the narrow and afflicted path of true discipleship, and put on the spiritual garments of salvation required for the marriage supper of the Lamb.
In this video, you will explore:
• Knowledge vs. Transformation: Why memorizing Scripture without practicing godly love creates spiritual blindness.
• The Narrow and Afflicted Gate: A deep dive into the Greek word thlibo in Matthew 7:13–14 and why true discipleship requires a difficult, constricted path.
• Many Are Invited, Few Are Elect: Re-examining Matthew 22 and the essential wedding garments needed to stand at the marriage supper of the Lamb.
• Putting On the Spiritual Garments: How Colossians 3, Exodus 28, and Ezekiel 44 outline the holy character traits required of God's future kings and priests.
• Entering Mount Zion: Why yielding to God's direction today prepares us to receive a Kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12).
"It's not just about the words. The words are important, the knowledge is important—but what do we do with those words? How do we live our lives?"
